Hiring Mid-Century Furniture for Film and Photoshoots in Sydney
Share
Period sets need period furniture. Not reproductions. Reproductions read wrong on camera — the proportions are off, the timber is too even, the wear is painted on.
We hire out original mid-century pieces from our Sydney gallery.
What is available
Almost the whole collection. Sideboards, dining tables and chairs, armchairs, coffee tables, cabinets, lighting, rugs, art and decor.
Original Australian makers. Parker, Chiswell and others from the 1950s to the 1970s. Real teak with real patina.
If a piece is on the site and not marked sold, it can usually be hired. The exception is made-to-order upholstery.
What it costs
Thirty per cent of the listed sale price, for a two-week hire.
No hidden fees on the rate itself. Transport is arranged separately.
Who uses it
Film and television production. Commercial photography. Editorial shoots. Interior stylists dressing a property for sale. Brand campaigns that want a room to look lived in rather than staged.
How it works
Send us the pieces you want and your shoot dates. We confirm availability.
We do not run a live booking calendar. Everything goes through an enquiry, which means you get a straight answer from a person rather than a system that has not been updated.
Why original pieces
A camera sees the difference. Grain, wear, the way light falls on sixty-year-old oiled teak — none of it can be faked convincingly at close range.
Period accuracy also matters to anyone who knows the era. Get the sideboard wrong and someone will notice.
