Tessa is Australian design at its most confident. Founded by Fred Lowen, the studio produced pieces that were engineered as much as styled: the T21 swivel armchair, the T8 sling, the bentwood-framed T4 and won recognition at the Australian Design Awards along the way.
Solid Tasmanian Blackwood, generous proportions and mechanisms built to outlast the fashion for them. Tessa became one of the country's most successful furniture exports, and remains among the most comfortable seating of the era.
