Located in Osaka, Iwatsu Glass is among Japan’s most established and productive manufacturers of mid-century art glass. During the post-war industrial expansion, its furnaces generated a significant volume of high-quality decorative glassware that competed with leading European glass producers in the international market.

The company’s peak creative and manufacturing period occurred in the 1960s and 1970s, producing a wide variety of vases, centrepieces, and art glass objects. Their designs embody mid-century modern aesthetics, prominently featuring vivid color swirls encased in thick, transparent glass.
