The 'Combi Star' reclining lounge chair, designed by Arnt Lande in 1962 for Stokke.

A sculptural beech frame wraps the outside of the chair and cradles the seat within it — structure made visible rather than hidden, which is what separates Norwegian design of this period from its Danish neighbours. The recline offers several positions rather than one, and the headrest adjusts with it.
