A Chiswell carver armchair from the 1970s in original black vinyl.

The carver is the armed chair in a dining set — traditionally reserved for the head of the table, and made in far smaller numbers than the side chairs around it. On its own it makes an excellent occasional chair for a hallway, bedroom or study, where the arms give it more presence than a plain dining chair.

Teak frame, robust and treated with Danish oil. Original upholstery with no significant flaws.
