Chiswell Expanding Card Table, Teak & Smoked Glass

A Chiswell expanding card table in teak with a smoked glass shelf.

Closed it is a coffee table. Opened it becomes a 110 × 110cm card table — the same piece doing two entirely different jobs, which is the kind of engineering the era did well and almost nobody does now.

A purple velvet-lined drawer handles cards, coasters or anything else that should not be on display. The smoked glass shelf below keeps the whole thing from reading as solid.

Not restored, and in great condition for its age.
