Sigurd Ressell 'Falcon' Chair, Burgundy Leather & Chrome

The Falcon chair, designed by Sigurd Ressell for Vatne Møbler — a low-back example in leather on a chrome frame.

Ressell took the shape from a falcon's claw, and once you know that the chair is impossible to unsee: the frame curves in to grip the leather sling the way a talon closes. Sculpture that happens to hold a person.

The leather sling gives with the sitter rather than resisting, which is why the Falcon remains genuinely comfortable rather than merely admired. In excellent condition, with a good lustre to the chrome.
