A vintage Mid-Century Modern concrete planter, c. 1960s. Features a striking geometric 'witches hat' conical form with a textured finish.
An Australian-made piece in the style of Willy Guhl's iconic 'Spindel' planter."
The most famous designer of this silhouette is Willy Guhl, who designed the "Spindel" (Spindle) planter for the Swiss company Eternit in 1951.
This specific geometric, conical shape is often referred to as a "Witches Hat" planter.
The clean, geometric lines are typical of the Space Age influence on design in the 50s and 60s. It was designed to look floating and futuristic compared to traditional heavy clay pots.
