A set of three Danish nesting tables by Gangsø Møbler, made in the 1960s in Brazilian rosewood with tiled tops.

Two rare things in one piece. Brazilian rosewood has been effectively unavailable since trade restrictions came in, and the geometric mosaic of earthy-toned tiles is the kind of decorative work most Danish makers avoided entirely.

The tiles also make these usable — a hot cup on a rosewood surface would be a tragedy; on tile it is nothing.
