Henning Kjærnulf Danish Oak Highboard

A solid oak highboard by Henning Kjærnulf, made in the 1950s, with carved detailing and rainbow stained glass.

Kjærnulf is the Danish designer who kept ornament when his contemporaries stripped it out — and this is the piece that proves it. Rounded door frames, chamfered edges, turned legs joined by stretcher bars, and a sculptural raised base.

Three cabinet compartments and four lower drawers give serious storage. The left cabinet holds four shallow interior drawers lined in deep green velvet with modular organisers — the kind of internal detail almost no maker bothered with.

Solid oak throughout.
