Don Rex Teak Armchair — Custom Order

A teak armchair by Don Rex, rebuilt in a fabric of your choosing.

Don Rex worked out of Brisbane through the 1950s and 60s, making pieces that stood comparison with the European imports of the day. The signature is in the arms — solid teak, shaped into the paddle or cigar profile that collectors now look for — and in the open frame, which gives the chair a lightness its construction does not suggest.

Low-profile reclining stance, tapered atomic legs, and a backrest curved to actually support you. It works as a reading chair as readily as a formal occasional chair.
