A bespoke maple sideboard from the 1960s, with louvre doors and a glass top.

Louvre doors are the detail. They were slow to make and are almost never seen on mass-produced furniture of the period, which places this among the bespoke pieces built by Australian cabinetmakers rather than factories. The glass top is original to the design, protecting the maple without hiding it.

Maple gives a paler, more even grain than teak — useful in a room already carrying darker timber.

At 146cm it suits a dining room or a wide hallway.

H 95cm × W 146cm × D 48cm
