Ceramic Cat Pair, Deep Blue Floral — 1960s

These are charming retro "kitsch" cats, in “his and hers" or mirrored pairs, designed to sit on a mantel or a shelf facing each other. 

They feature a deep cobalt blue glaze with a slightly textured, embossed floral pattern. The technique often involves a "wipe-back" or "relief" method where the glaze is thinner on the raised edges of the flowers, allowing the lighter ceramic body or a secondary colour to show through.
