Designed by the Norwegian designer Ingmar Relling in 1965, the Siesta chair became a global symbol of Norwegian furniture design. It is highly regarded for its ergonomic comfort and its minimalist, lightweight construction.
The frame is typically crafted from laminated stained beech wood, providing a signature "spring" that adds to the comfort.
The leather cushions rest on a durable sling, which allows the chair to conform to the sitter's body.
The chair is designed to be easily disassembled and reupholstered, contributing to its longevity. A great investment piece.
It was a massive commercial success and is even famous for being selected to furnish the White House during Jimmy Carter's presidency.
